llms.txt is a plain text file that sits in the root of your site (like mysite.tr/llms.txt). It gives large language models, that is AI tools, a short answer to "what does this site do, which pages matter?" While robots.txt tells bots which pages they may enter, llms.txt summarizes what they should look at.
When AI tools read long and complicated pages they can get lost among menus, ads and repeated blocks. A clean summary file aims to offer them a shortcut.
The file is in Markdown. At the top the business name is written as a title. Below it comes a short summary starting with "> ": what you do, who you serve, where you work. Then come link lists divided under headings; next to each link one sentence of description is written.
For example, under the "Features" heading the name, address and description of each feature page are listed. A good llms.txt is kept short; for the detailed text a separate llms-full.txt can be prepared.
llms-full.txt is the long version of llms.txt: the full text of the important pages is collected in a single file. An AI tool can read the content of your site in one request, without menus or ads.
We find this useful especially on sites with many pages. The aim is not to make the file big; only really important, current pages go in. If old and contradictory text goes into the file it does harm.
In the SEO settings you turn llms.txt on and write or edit its content yourself. The file is published at the root address of the site. When you add a new page, do not forget to add it to the summary list; also remove old and deleted pages from the list.
If you set this up with us we read your site content and prepare the file for you. In a short call we settle what should stand out.
Google has said that Search does not use the llms.txt file. Not all AI tools read or care about this file either; some tools adopt it and some do not, and this changes over time. So putting up llms.txt does not guarantee appearing in AI answers.
So why do we do it? Because it costs very little, does no harm and helps if some of the tools read it. We put the real weight on the pages themselves and on the access for AI bots settings.
The best side effect of this file is that it makes you think about your site from the start: which pages are really important, which are no longer needed? A page you cannot describe in one clear sentence while writing the summary probably confuses the visitor too.
We explained the whole of GEO preparation on the GEO page, and keeping information consistent and page structure on the structured data page.

No. robots.txt tells bots which pages they may enter. llms.txt summarizes what they should look at. One does not replace the other.
Google has stated that it does not use this file for Search. Some AI tools may read it; adoption varies by tool.
No guarantee. The file is a cheap extra that may help; the real effect is determined by the quality of the pages, consistent information and bot access.
