How to choose a GEO agency: 12 questions to ask.
Most "best GEO agencies" lists come from publishers who put their own agency in first place. This guide is for choosing an agency by your own criteria, not by a list.

GEO work has four parts: measuring the current state (does the brand appear in AI answers, for which questions does it not), the technical base (bot access, structured data, speed), content (question-and-answer pages, guides, original data) and external visibility (being mentioned on trusted sources). It then continues with measurement and retrying.
We explained these parts in detail on the GEO page and its subpages. Ask which of these four parts the agency's quote covers.
These lists dominate the searches in Turkish. But many of them are published on an agency's own blog, and the agency puts itself in first place. Bravery Technology's GEO list is one example: the publisher writes its own name at the top of the list. This does not make the content worthless, but it shows it is not an independent comparison.
When you read a list, look at three things: is the publisher on the list, are the criteria and data open, and what is the date. Our advice is to collect names from the list and make the choice yourself with the criteria below.
The first is SEO background: structured data, E-E-A-T and technical knowledge carry straight over to GEO. The second is AI knowledge: does the agency understand how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews choose sources, and does it have publications or research on it? The third is measurement capability: how does it track visibility?
The fourth is content quality: does it produce deep content with original data? The fifth is a testing culture: does it test assumptions and learn, or does it claim to already know the answer? You should ask for clear examples on at least three of these five criteria.
In the meeting ask: How will you measure my brand's current AI visibility? Which platforms and how many questions will you track? How will you compare with competitors? Who carries out the output, is it a report or implementation? Do you make the technical changes (robots, data, speed) yourself? Who writes the content, is there expert review?
Continued: Do you give a ranking or mention guarantee? How long until what should I expect? By which indicators will we measure success? When the work ends, do the content and the access stay with me? Can you give examples and references from similar businesses? What will be in the monthly report?
Guarantee promises: sentences like "first place in ChatGPT guaranteed". AI answers vary by person, place and time, and no one can control them. Secret method: an agency that does not explain how it works cannot explain the result either.
Bought mentions and fake reviews: they break platform rules and can harm the brand. Aiming at one tool only: putting all the effort on a single tool becomes risky when tools change. An invoice without a report: work without measurement cannot prove progress.
According to one agency's publication, monthly prices run as follows: GEO-only consulting 8,000 to 15,000 TL (for businesses that already have an SEO agency and a strong base), a combined package with SEO 15,000 to 35,000 TL, and full service covering GEO, SEO, content and digital PR 30,000 to 60,000 TL. For those starting from scratch, a minimum of 15,000 to 25,000 TL per month is mentioned. All amounts are in Turkish lira (TL) for the Turkish market.
These figures are the agency's own estimates, not an independent source. International agencies may ask 3 to 5 times Turkish prices. For general website prices see our Website prices page.
Ask the agency for the following in the monthly report: the list of tracked questions with their results, how many times your name appeared in which tool and which sources were shown, visits from AI tools, the change in brand-name searches and the list of work done. There is no standard tool that measures this exactly; manual tests and indirect indicators are used together.
We explained these methods on the GEO measurement page. A report should not consist only of screenshots.
If your current SEO agency already handles AI visibility (structured data, E-E-A-T, Q&A content, measurement), you may not need a separate GEO agency. Ask the agency about its approach. If there is no answer, getting GEO-focused support makes sense.
There is another way for businesses with a limited budget: you build the base of GEO yourself. Bot access, llms.txt, structured data and Q&A content are managed in the panel; details are on the AI bots, llms.txt and structured data pages.
GEO results are slow and variable; one source recommends evaluating results over a 6 to 12 month period. In the contract ask for: a clear scope, a monthly report, a termination clause and handing over the content written and the access (Search Console, Analytics, server) to you.
Avoid very long contracts with penalties. Starting with a 3-month trial period and clear criteria is a healthy approach.
The measurement method and transparency. The agency should say clearly how it will measure visibility, what it will do and what it does not guarantee.

No. AI answers vary by person, place and time and cannot be seen from outside. Be careful with an agency that gives a guarantee.
Many are published on an agency's own blog and put that agency in first place. Use the list to collect names, and make the choice with your own criteria.
Yes, if it works on structured data, E-E-A-T, Q&A content and measurement. Ask the agency about this approach.
There is no exact time. The tools change often. One source recommends evaluating results over a 6 to 12 month period; early on you look at indirect indicators.
The base, yes: bot access, llms.txt, structured data and Q&A content are managed in the panel. External visibility and measurement take more effort.
The scope, the monthly report, the termination clause and the handover of content and access to you. It is healthy to start with a short trial period.
